This two-week journey combines the cultural treasures of Sarawak with the natural wonders of Sabah. Experience Kuching, visit Iban longhouses at Batang Ai, explore the caves of Mulu, cruise the Kinabatangan River, and discover Tabin Wildlife Reserve – a complete Borneo adventure.
Day 1 – Arrival in Kuching (D)
Morning/Afternoon: Arrival at Kuching International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Evening: Walk with your guide to the Top Spot Food Court for a welcome seafood dinner. Accommodation: Pullman Kuching
Day 2 – Kuching to Nanga Sumpa (B/L/D)
Morning: 08:00 hrs pick-up in Kuching and drive to Batang Ai Reservoir. Stop at Lachau Bazaar for a market visit and early lunch. Afternoon: Board a longboat to Nanga Sumpa Lodge, arriving around 15:30 hrs. Check in at the lodge. Evening: Dinner and leisure time in the rainforest setting. Accommodation: Nanga Sumpa Lodge
Day 3 – Enseluai Waterfall & Longhouse Visit (B/L/D)
Morning: Jungle hike and longboat trip to Enseluai Waterfall. Relax, swim and enjoy the surroundings. Afternoon: Riverside BBQ lunch prepared by Iban hosts. Return to lodge. Evening: Visit Nanga Sumpa Longhouse, meet the Iban community, and sample rice wine. Accommodation: Nanga Sumpa Lodge
Day 4 – Nanga Sumpa to Kuching (B/L)
Morning: Breakfast at the lodge and longboat journey back to Batang Ai Lake jetty. Afternoon: Return drive to Kuching with lunch stop en route. Arrive around 16:30 hrs. Accommodation: Pullman Kuching
Day 5 – Bako National Park (B/L)
Morning: Transfer to Bako fishing village and boat ride to the national park. Afternoon: Jungle trails with chances to see proboscis monkeys, bearded pigs, pitcher plants and mangroves. Evening: Return to Kuching. Accommodation: Pullman Kuching
Day 6 – Fly Kuching to Mulu (B)
Morning: Flight to Mulu. Transfer to resort. Afternoon: Walk on plank trails to Lang’s Cave and Deer Cave. Evening: Observe the bat exodus before returning to the resort. Accommodation: Mulu Marriott Resort
Day 7 – Wind & Clearwater Caves (B/L)
Morning: Longboat ride to Wind Cave and explore the King’s Chamber. Afternoon: Continue to Clearwater Cave and swim in the natural pool. Picnic lunch provided. Evening: Return to resort and time at leisure. Accommodation: Mulu Marriott Resort
Day 8 – Mulu to Kota Kinabalu (B)
Morning: Free at leisure in Mulu. Afternoon: Flight to Kota Kinabalu. Evening: Check in at hotel and time to explore the city. Accommodation: Kota Kinabalu Hotel
Day 9 – Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort (L/D)
Morning: Flight to Sandakan and transfer to jetty. Afternoon: Boat transfer to Abai village, check in at Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort. Afternoon river cruise in search of wildlife. Evening: Dinner at the resort, night walk on the boardwalk. Accommodation: Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort
Day 10 – Kinabatangan Exploration (B/L/D)
Morning: Early river cruise to Danau Pitas oxbow lake with packed breakfast. Afternoon: Visit Kampung Abai fishing village. Lunch and leisure at the lodge. Later, another river cruise. Evening: Dinner at the lodge, followed by a night river safari. Accommodation: Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort
Day 11 – To Lahad Datu & HAK’s B&B (B/D)
Morning: Boat upstream to Sukau, then transfer by road to Lahad Datu. Afternoon: Arrival at HAK’s B&B. Time to relax at the pool or garden. Evening: Farm-to-table dinner. Accommodation: HAK’s B&B
Day 12 – Tabin Wildlife Reserve (B/L/D)
Morning: Transfer by road to Tabin Wildlife Resort. Afternoon: Trek to Lipad mud volcano and climb the observation tower. Evening: Dinner followed by a night safari in search of nocturnal wildlife. Accommodation: Tabin Wildlife Resort
Day 13 – Tabin Exploration (B/L/D)
Morning: Bird walk and jungle trek to Lipad Waterfall with swimming opportunity. Afternoon: Relax with a rainforest foot soak using local herbs. Evening: Dusk wildlife drive and guided night walk. Accommodation: Tabin Wildlife Resort
Day 14 – Return to Lahad Datu (B/L)
Morning: Optional dawn drive (at additional cost). Breakfast at resort. Afternoon: Lunch and transfer to Lahad Datu for onward journey. Evening: Option to extend stay at HAK’s B&B. Accommodation: HAK’s B&B or onward travel
