This relaxed journey combines the wildlife of the Kinabatangan River, the conservation highlights of Sepilok, and the serene beauty of Lankayan Island. Perfect for travelers who want to balance adventure with time to unwind.
Day 1 – Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort (L/D)
Pick up from Sandakan Airport by the Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort team. Transfer to Sandakan Jetty for a 1.5 hour boat ride to Abai, passing Berhala Island and mangrove estuaries. Check in at Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort (KWR) for lunch. Afternoon river cruise in search of proboscis monkeys, hornbills and fireflies. After dinner, guided night walk along the boardwalks. Overnight at KWR.
Day 2 – Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort (B/L/D)
Early morning river cruise to oxbow lake Danau Pitas with packed breakfast on board. Visit Kampung Abai village to meet the Orang Sungai community. Afternoon at leisure or explore the surroundings of the resort. Late afternoon wildlife cruise along small tributaries. After dinner, night river safari. Overnight at KWR.
Day 3 – Sepilok Nature Resort (B)
After breakfast, check out from KWR and return by boat to Sandakan. Transfer to Sepilok. In the afternoon, visit the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre and later the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. Overnight at Sepilok Nature Resort.
Day 4 – Lankayan Island (B/L/D)
Morning transfer to PSR Jetty in Sandakan. Depart by boat at 10:00am for Lankayan Island. Check in at your beach chalet and enjoy the island atmosphere. Overnight at Lankayan Island Resort.
Day 5 – Lankayan Island (B/L/D)
Full day free to enjoy Lankayan Island. Relax on the white sand beaches, snorkel the coral reefs, or simply unwind at your chalet. Overnight at Lankayan Island Resort.
Day 6 – Lankayan Island (B/L/D)
Another full day to enjoy the tranquility of Lankayan. Explore marine life or simply enjoy the serene surroundings. Overnight at Lankayan Island Resort.
Day 7 – Departure (B)
Early morning boat transfer back to Sandakan. Continue with transfer to the airport for your onward journey. End of service.
