Experience the best of Borneo on this 13-day adventure: meet orangutans in Sepilok, cruise the wildlife-rich Kinabatangan River, trek the pristine rainforest of Danum Valley, explore Tabin Wildlife Reserve, and end your journey on the idyllic beaches of Mataking Island.

Day 1 – Sepilok Nature Resort (D)

Arrival in Sandakan and transfer to Sepilok Nature Resort. Self-guided visits to Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, Sun Bear Conservation Centre and Rainforest Discovery Centre. Dinner and overnight at Sepilok Nature Resort.

Day 2 – Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort (B/L/D)

Morning transfer to Sandakan Jetty and boat cruise (1.5 hrs) to Abai on the Kinabatangan River. Check-in at Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort. Afternoon river cruise to spot proboscis monkeys, hornbills and more. Dinner and guided night walk.

Day 3 – Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort (B/L/D)

Early morning cruise to Danau Pitas oxbow lake with packed breakfast. Visit Kampung Abai fishing village. Afternoon tributary cruise and evening night safari by boat. Overnight at KWR.

Day 4 – HAK’s B&B, Lahad Datu (B/D)

Morning boat upstream to Sukau, then overland transfer to Lahad Datu. Dinner and overnight at HAK’s B&B.

Day 5 – Danum Valley Field Centre (L/D)

Breakfast and transfer (2.5 hrs) to Danum Valley Field Centre. Check-in, briefing and lunch. Afternoon introduction walk with your guide. Dinner and guided night walk (optional 4x4 night safari available).

Day 6 – Danum Valley Field Centre (B/L/D)

Optional 4x4 sunrise drive to Bukit Atur, or guided morning trek. After breakfast, explore trails to Tembaling Waterfall or Burial Cave (packed lunch included). Afternoon swim in Segama River, sunset trek. Dinner and guided night walk. Overnight at DVFC.

Day 7 – HAK’s B&B, Lahad Datu (B/D)

Optional early morning activity. Breakfast, then leisure until check-out. Return transfer to Lahad Datu. Dinner and overnight at HAK’s B&B.

Day 8 – Tabin Wildlife Resort (B/L/D)

Transfer to Tabin Wildlife Resort. Lunch on arrival. Afternoon trek to the Lipad mud volcano and observation tower. Evening slideshow and night safari.

Day 9 – Tabin Wildlife Resort (B/L/D)

Morning bird walk. Trek to Lipad Waterfall with swim in natural pool. Afternoon rainforest foot soak. Evening dusk drive for nocturnal wildlife. Overnight at Tabin.

Day 10 – HAK’s B&B, Lahad Datu (B/D)

Optional dawn drive (extra). Breakfast and lunch at Tabin. Afternoon transfer back to Lahad Datu. Dinner and overnight at HAK’s B&B.

Day 11 – Mataking Island Resort (B/L/D)

Breakfast at HAK’s B&B. Morning transfer to Semporna and onward speedboat to Mataking Island Resort. Lunch and check-in. Afternoon at leisure on the beach.

Day 12 – Mataking Island Resort (B/L/D)

Full day at leisure: snorkeling, diving (optional) or simply relaxing on Mataking’s white sand beaches.

Day 13 – Departure (B)

Breakfast and free morning. Transfer by boat to Semporna and onward by land to Tawau Airport. End of service.
