Danum Valley Field Centre (DVFC) is the ultimate base for exploring Sabah’s pristine jungle. 3D2N Danum Valley Field Center Adventure
Day 1 | Danum Valley Field Center (L/D)
After an early breakfast, you’ll depart at 9:30 AM for the Danum Valley Field Center (DVFC), a scenic two-hour drive from Lahad Datu. Nestled deep within one of the oldest rainforests in the world, the DVFC offers a unique opportunity to experience pristine nature up close.
Upon arrival, check in to your accommodation and enjoy your lunch (optional). At 3:30 PM, your guide will lead you on an introductory forest walk (about 1.5 hours), offering a first glimpse of the area’s remarkable biodiversity.
After dinner at 8:00 PM, continue with a guided night drive (optional) in search of fascinating nocturnal wildlife.
Day 2 | Danum Valley Field Center (B/L/D)
Start your day at 7:00 AM with breakfast at the Dining Hall before embarking on a guided trekking adventure of about 4 hours. The hike will take you through dense jungle, where you may encounter gibbons, hornbills, and other rainforest inhabitants.
Return to the Centre by noon for lunch, followed by time to rest. In the afternoon, at 3:00 PM, head out again for an extended 2.5-hour forest walk. After a coffee or tea break at 5:30 PM, you’ll have time to relax before dinner at 7:00 PM.
The day ends with a night walk at 8:00 PM (max. 1 hour), where your guide will help you spot frogs, insects, and other nocturnal creatures.
Day 3 | Danum Valley Field Center – Lahad Datu (B/D)
Rise early at 6:00 AM for a refreshing morning walk, soaking in the sounds of the waking jungle. Breakfast is served at 7:00 AM, before checking out at 9:30 AM.
Around noon, you’ll arrive back in Lahad Datu. Check in once again to HAK’s B&B, where you can relax, meet your friends, and enjoy a warm reunion dinner together.
Danum Valley Field Center Inclusions:
- 2 nights in a Standard Resthouse (double room)
- All meals, guided activities, and shared transfers
- Nature guide throughout
