Pom Pom Island – A Secluded Paradise in the Celebes Sea

Tucked away just 45 minutes by boat from Semporna, Pom Pom Island is a small coral reef island surrounded by white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters of the Celebes Sea. With no villages and minimal human impact, it offers privacy and seclusion for holidaymakers and honeymooners. Villas are designed with traditional touches that blend into the natural surroundings, while the island’s Yin & Yang Spa invites guests to relax after days in the sun.

Pom Pom is a diver’s haven. Its reef slopes dramatically into the deep blue, offering drift dives, vertical walls, and pelagic encounters. Macro enthusiasts will love the abundance of small marine creatures in the shallows, while its location in the Coral Triangle ensures a rich diversity of more than 500 coral species.

The island is also an important turtle nesting site, with Green turtles nesting year-round (peak May–September) and Hawksbill turtles seen regularly on the reef. On average, divers can spot up to seven Green turtles per dive, making Pom Pom one of the best places in Borneo to encounter these gentle giants up close.
