Duration: 10 Days / 9 Nights

Day 1 – Arrival in Lahad Datu / HAK’s B&B (D)

Meet and greet at Lahad Datu Airport. Transfer to HAK’s B&B for check-in. Dinner and overnight at HAK’s B&B.

Day 2 – Danum Valley Field Centre (L/D)

After breakfast, transfer from Lahad Datu to Danum Valley Field Centre (DVFC), arriving by mid-morning. Registration, check-in and briefing by DVFC staff. Lunch at the centre. In the afternoon, introductory forest walk with your guide – a first encounter with the rainforest and its wildlife. After dinner, join a guided night walk. Optional 4x4 night safari can be booked upon check-in. Overnight at DVFC.

Day 3 – Danum Valley Field Centre (B/L/D)

Early start to witness the rainforest awakening, or optional 4x4 drive to Bukit Atur for sunrise views above the canopy. Breakfast at the centre. Guided trek to Tembaling Waterfall or Burial Cave, with packed lunch. Enjoy a dip in the Segama River. Afternoon trek to catch the colours of sunset. Dinner at the centre, followed by a guided night walk or optional night drive. Overnight at DVFC.

Day 4 – Return to Lahad Datu / HAK’s B&B (B/L/D)

Optional early morning rainforest activity. Breakfast at the centre. Check-out around 11:30am and transfer back to Lahad Datu. Lunch included. Overnight at HAK’s B&B with dinner.

Day 5 – Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort (B/L/D)

After breakfast, check out from HAK’s B&B and transfer to Sukau. Board the boat for a 1.5-hour cruise downstream to Abai. Check-in at Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort (KWR) and lunch. Afternoon river cruise in search of proboscis monkeys, hornbills, crocodiles and more. After dinner, guided night walk on the boardwalks. Overnight at KWR.

Day 6 – Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort (B/L/D)

Early morning river cruise to oxbow lake Danau Pitas with packed breakfast. Later, visit Kampung Abai village to meet the Orang Sungai community. Afternoon at leisure, then tributary cruise for more wildlife. After dinner, night river safari. Overnight at KWR.

Day 7 – Sepilok Nature Resort (B/D)

After breakfast, check out and boat transfer back to Sandakan via Berhala Island. Transfer to Sepilok Nature Resort. Self-guided visits possible to Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre and the Rainforest Discovery Centre. Dinner and overnight at Sepilok Nature Resort.

Day 8 – Lankayan Island Resort (B/L/D)

After breakfast, land transfer to Sandakan Jetty. Boat departs at 10:00am to Lankayan Island. Check-in and lunch at the resort. Afternoon free at leisure. Overnight at Lankayan Island Resort.

Day 9 – Lankayan Island Resort (B/L/D)

Full day at leisure. Snorkel, dive or simply enjoy the beach and marine life of the Sulu Sea. Overnight at Lankayan Island Resort.

Day 10 – Departure (B)

Early breakfast, then 7:00am boat transfer back to Sandakan. Land transfer to the airport for onward journey. End of service.
