Duration: 13 Days / 12 Nights

This carefully designed program combines the highlights of Sabah: scenic rides in the Kinabalu region, orangutans at Sepilok, river safaris on the Kinabatangan, pristine rainforest exploration in Danum Valley, and a relaxing island finale at Pom Pom. The ideal combination of adventure and relaxation.

Day 1 – Kota Kinabalu (D)

Arrival in Kota Kinabalu. Meet at the airport and transfer to hotel. Easy ride around the city up to Signal Hill, followed by refreshments. Welcome dinner and overnight in Kota Kinabalu.

Day 2 – Kasih Sayang Resort (B/L/D)

Breakfast and transfer to Dongongon Town. Scenic ride with gradual ascent, passing Kadazan/Dusun villages and St. Michael’s Church. Lunch en route, then transfer to Kasih Sayang Resort. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – Kundasang (B/L/D)

Cycling route through paddy fields and countryside to Kiulu. Refreshing dip in the river. Lunch and transfer to Kundasang. Overnight at a hotel in Kundasang.

Day 4 – Sepilok Nature Resort (B/L/D)

Morning ride to Desa Cattle Dairy Farm near Kundasang. Lunch, then transfer to Sepilok. Overnight at Sepilok Nature Resort.

Day 5 – Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort (B/L/D)

Morning self-guided visit to Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, Sun Bear Conservation Centre or Rainforest Discovery Centre. At 11:00am, transfer to Sandakan Jetty. Boat to Abai (1.5 hrs) via Berhala Island. Check-in and lunch at Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort. Afternoon wildlife river cruise. Dinner and guided night walk. Overnight at KWR.

Day 6 – Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort (B/L/D)

Early morning river cruise to Danau Pitas oxbow lake with packed breakfast. Visit Kampung Abai village. Afternoon tributary cruise in search of more wildlife. After dinner, night river safari. Overnight at KWR.

Day 7 – HAK’s B&B, Lahad Datu (B/D)

After breakfast, boat transfer upriver to Sukau, then overland transfer to Lahad Datu. Dinner and overnight at HAK’s B&B.

Day 8 – Danum Valley Field Centre (L/D)

Breakfast at HAK’s B&B, then 9:00am transfer to Danum Valley Field Centre. Check-in, briefing and lunch. Afternoon introductory forest walk with your guide. After dinner, guided night walk (optional 4x4 night safari available). Overnight at DVFC.

Day 9 – Danum Valley Field Centre (B/L/D)

Optional pre-booked 4x4 sunrise drive to Bukit Atur, or early jungle trek to witness the rainforest awakening. Breakfast, then guided trekking to Tembaling Waterfall or Burial Cave with packed lunch. Afternoon swim in the Segama River, followed by sunset trekking. Dinner and guided night walk or optional night safari. Overnight at DVFC.

Day 10 – HAK’s B&B, Lahad Datu (B/L/D)

Optional early morning rainforest activity. Breakfast, then check-out and return transfer to Lahad Datu. Lunch included. Dinner and overnight at HAK’s B&B.

Day 11 – Pom Pom Island Resort (B/L/D)

Breakfast at HAK’s B&B. Morning transfer to Semporna and onward by boat to Pom Pom Island. Arrival, check-in and lunch. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Pom Pom Island Resort.

Day 12 – Pom Pom Island Resort (B/L/D)

Full day at leisure. Swim, snorkel or simply enjoy the white sand beach. Overnight at Pom Pom Island Resort.

Day 13 – Departure (B/L)

Breakfast and morning free. Lunch at the resort. Boat transfer to Semporna and land transfer to Tawau Airport. Expected arrival ~4:00pm. End of service.
