Deramakot Wildlife Adventure (Sabah)
Duration: 3 Days / 2 Nights
Step into one of Borneo’s best-kept secrets with a 3D2N adventure through Deramakot Forest Reserve – Sabah’s hidden gem for wildlife enthusiasts. Home to over 75% of the state’s mammal species, including orangutans, pygmy elephants and the elusive clouded leopard, Deramakot offers a rare glimpse into a pristine and sustainably managed rainforest. With night safaris, dawn drives and guided jungle treks, this experience captures the wild beauty of Borneo, far from the crowds.
Day 1 – Arrival & Night Safari (D)
Meet at 77 Café & Restaurant in Telupid around 12:00 noon (lunch at own expense). At 2:00 pm, depart for Deramakot Forest Reserve by 4WD (approx. 2–3 hours). Upon arrival, check in at the Deramakot Field Centre and receive a short briefing on the upcoming activities. After dinner, join your first night safari by 4WD in search of nocturnal wildlife such as civets, flying squirrels, and possibly wild cats. Overnight at Deramakot Field Centre.
Day 2 – Wildlife Safaris & Trekking (B/L/D)
Start the day with an early morning 4WD safari to witness the rainforest awakening. Return for breakfast at the field centre, followed by a guided jungle trek or birdwatching walk depending on your interests. After lunch, enjoy some downtime before heading out on an afternoon 4WD safari, returning at sunset for panoramic views over the forest canopy. After dinner, join a guided night walk or optional additional 4WD safari for another chance to spot rare nocturnal species. Overnight at Deramakot Field Centre.
Day 3 – Departure (B)
Optional early morning walk before breakfast. After breakfast, depart Deramakot by 4WD for your return journey to Telupid (approx. 2–3 hours). End of service.
