Located 40 km north of Sandakan in the Sulu Sea, Selingan Turtle Island is part of the Turtle Islands Park, a protected haven for endangered green and hawksbill turtles. It offers visitors a unique chance to witness turtles coming ashore to nest, as well as the release of hatchlings into the sea – an unforgettable conservation experience.
Itinerary Selingan Turtle Island
Duration: 2Days/1Nights
Day 1 (L/D)
- 9:30 am – Meet the Crystal Quest team at Sabah Parks Jetty, Jalan Buli Sim Sim (please have breakfast before arrival).
- Proceed to Crystal Quest office for registration (bring your passport for verification).
- 10:00 am – Boat departs from the jetty (45–60 minutes depending on sea conditions).
- Arrival at Selingan Island, collect room key from reception and check into chalet.
- Free time to swim, snorkel, or relax on the beach.
- 12:30 pm – Lunch.
- 6:30 pm – Visit the Exhibition Hall.
- 7:00 pm – Video presentation on turtle conservation.
- 7:30 pm – Dinner.
- After dinner: Join the Sabah Parks Ranger–guided Turtle Program (time depends on turtle landing).
Day 2 (B)
- 6:30 am – Breakfast.
- 7:00 am – Boat departs from the island.
- 8:00 am – Arrival at Crystal Quest Main Jetty in Sandakan.
Important Notes
- The trip is non-guided, except during the Turtle Program led by Sabah Parks Rangers.
- Facilities on the island are basic.
- Please bring sunblock, mosquito repellent, and other personal necessities.
