Duration: 3 Days / 2 Nights
Day 1 – Arrival at Tabin Wildlife Resort (L/D)
- Breakfast at Bike and Tours B&B (7:00 am).
- Pick-up in Lahad Datu at 7:45 am and transfer by road (approx. 2 hrs) to Tabin Wildlife Reserve.
- Check-in at Tabin Wildlife Resort timber lodge with private balcony, air-con, ceiling fan and hot shower.
- Explore the rainforest surroundings of the Lipad River, home to birds, insects and small mammals.
- Visit Trogon Hall Gallery for information on Tabin’s conservation work and local wildlife.
- Lunch and leisure time at the resort.
- Afternoon: Trek to the active Lipad Mud Volcano – a mineral salt lick for wildlife. Spot footprints, climb the observation tower, and return along the elephant trail.
- Dinner at the resort, followed by a presentation on Tabin’s natural wonders.
- Evening night safari in search of nocturnal wildlife. Stargazing opportunity under Tabin’s clear night sky.
Day 2 – Birdwatching & Waterfall Trek (B/L/D)
- Join an early morning bird walk to spot some of Tabin’s 300 bird species.
- Breakfast at the resort.
- Drive to Tabin’s core area for wildlife spotting and a trek to Lipad Waterfall. Swim in the natural pool or enjoy a refreshing jungle shower.
- Lunch at the resort.
- Afternoon: Try the relaxing Tabin Rainforest Herbal Foot Soak.
- Evening dusk drive to look for nocturnal wildlife.
- After dinner: Guided night walk along the resort trails in search of sleeping birds, frogs and other nocturnal creatures.
Day 3 – Departure (B/L)
- Optional: Dawn drive (additional cost) or jungle walk to spot early wildlife.
- Breakfast at 8:30 am. Leisure time until check-out at 1:30 pm.
- Lunch at the resort.
- Transfer back to Lahad Datu for onward travel.
